“Right now it’s 4 in the morning in LA and I was going to announce my big announcement in seven days, but I just got word that I could announce it now, so why not?” Grier said in the video he posted to Twitter.
“It’s going to be really cool and an amazing journey to be on season 21 of Dancing with the Stars, and I’m super excited, and I want you guys to be a big part of it and support and vote for us, and it’s going to be a great time.”
To most people over 25, you’ve probably have never heard of Hayes Grier, who has over 4 million followers on Vine and 2.94 million on Twitter. He became famous after posting goofy 6 second videos with his brother, Nash Grier (one of the most popular Viners in the world) on Vine.
With multiple videos going viral, brands came calling. Top Viners like the Grier brothers are being paid up to six figures for promoting products in their vines, with many stating they are making a living off the platform.
Hayes Grier will be the second youngest contestant to join Dancing with the Stars. The youngest was Hunger Games star Willow Shields, who was 14 when she was on the show’s 20th season.
